Business Requirements Document

The Business Requirements Document template is used to detail both the business and stakeholder requirements for a project. It includes the framework and tools to evaluate the project requirements and to select and/or confirm the Project Manager and Sponsor.

The Business Requirements Document template is designed to:

  • Create a document that enables the organization to determine the feasibility of moving from project concept to project initiation.
  • Confirm and develop a common understanding of the project's parameters among all affected customers and other stakeholders.
  • Capture the customer requirement for a project.

The Project Charter template is used to document a description of the project including its expected outcomes, approach, and content. It describes what the project manager is to accomplish and therefore becomes the initial baseline upon which to measure their performance.
